The food and service was excellent and the restaurant was beautiful! If I had been in a group, I would have definitely ordered more!

It's so beautiful in here the matcha colored seating and grey walls go so well with the vibe of this place. The decorations are so beautiful and the bathroom was so clean! The service could be better and it's really loud in here due to the echo/lacking acoustics though. It was so hard to hear each other we literally had to yell in each other's ears lol. But the food was deliciousssss. You can see no one waited for my pictures to be taken, that's how good it was lol. The siu mai literally had soup juices coming out in every bite it was sooo good. The sin juk gyun is my favorite dish but was not my favorite here, it was missing a lot of flavor. The lo mai gai (sticky rice) was kind of small. we had flag three different people down just to cut it. The ha gao (shrimp dumping) and ha churng fun (shrimp crepe) was my fave sooo good. I'm pretty sure they used prawns instead of shrimp, it was huge. The desserts were something else! The mango sago was a hitttt. so good, my fam didn't really like the green tea pudding but I ate the whole thing. The coconut/almond with red bean was so yummyyy and we all loved it. Only thing I hated was the 2.50 dollars per person for a medium pot of Jasmine tea. I will not be getting that again... they should just charge one flat fee for tea. I will definitely be back!

Went on a San Francisco girls trip, and we always go to this dim sum place. You can never go wrong with dimsum. The new location is so modern compared to the old location, but still has the same quality and freshness. The food came out not too long after we ordered. We split the Peking duck, shrimp dumplings, scallop siu mai, shrimp rice noodle, and drunken noodles. We each got the mango sago and it was definitely refreshing. The only reason why I give 4 stars is because of the remark the waiter made. I didn't think he realized we were splitting the food. I just think waiters should keep their comments to themselves, unless customers ask for their input.

So good! Mother's day meal for 11 and everything was delicious. Service was prompt and generous. Ambiance fun. Clean bathrooms always a plus. Will return!

I was very excited to visit City View at this new location. If you remember having a land line for a phone you might recall the entrance being a portal for a cookware supply store. The location is very convenient as the Portsmouth Square parking lot is across the street. The decor is upgraded and modern chic with booths that will fit 4 comfortably. Gone are the large round banquet tables that fit 10 people with a lazy Susan to spin the dishes. Instead of carts pushed through the dining area you're given a menu with the traditional options. We went with har gow, shui mai, taro dumpling, har cheung, Singapore mai fun, snow capped char shui bao,and spicy wontons. Food came efficiently and piping hot. Outstanding was har cheung with large luscious shrimp that was crisp to the bite. Second was the snow capped char shui bao largely due to the crispness of the topping. Next the shui mai was made with large bites of juicy pork and not ground meat. Definitely coming back to try the rest of the offerings.

My friends and I stopped by City View restaurant on the day of the San Francisco Chinese New Year parade. It was busy! But hey, we wanted some dim sum but it's a bummer that they aren't doing the carts anymore. The prices have jumped up and so has the atmosphere of the restaurant. The restaurant looks more upscale now and service was very efficient. My friends and I ordered all sorts of items including the soup dumplings aka xiao long bao, the fried taro, pork buns, shiu mai, the sticky rice and also the rice noodle sheets with shrimp. Everything was really delicious and I wish we ordered more food because we were still hungry but it was pretty pricey for just three people. I highly recommend going here to get dim sum but more like a snack because you'll probably be hungry still. You can easily get more snacks and drinks walking around Chinatown afterwards. Love how clean the restaurant is, love the vibe and the service was organized and efficient.

This restaurant was definitely good! The ambience was very clean and looked fancy and nice. We waited about 10 minutes for a group of 5 on a Sunday afternoon. They didn't have traditional carts coming around although there were a few people who came around. The rice rolls we got were delicious, the shu mai and other dim sum items were also good. The basics were done right! No complaints. The sautéed green beans came in a smaller bowl than I thought, but they were good nonetheless. Their steamed buns were probably my favorite pick though. An interesting dish that I would try again are the fried rice rolls? In sauce? I forgot what they were exactly but the texture was unique yet so good and the sauce was interesting too. If you go here, definitely get this dish because I think this was the show stopper. Despite being full, I kept going back for more!
